2000 toyota tundra battery light on but alternator is charging. Ya 75k is a little low for the alt to go out. It should be greater than 13 volts less than 15V. Take the 12-14mm nut off the positive post and clean in between ALL the stacked leads on there.
1 Make sure the alternator is charging operating properly by measuring the voltage between earth battery negative and the live terminal. Check if this fits your 2000 Toyota Tundra. It is turned by a serpentine belt.
When I went to go purchase a new one from. Whenever the brushes on the inside of the alternator are starting to go or the voltage regulator is starting to fail the charge light will start flickeringflashing in a somewhat regular pattern. I am trying to find out why may battery light is on with out spending 10000 for diagnostic.
The alternator cannot bring a very weak or dead battery back to life. Next few are always leads to relay box alternator sense etc. Check your voltages again with the engine stopped and then running.
2 Make sure the regulator is being excited. The alternators job in your Tundra is to provide electricity as it is running. If the battery is weak or dead the car will continue to run but the lights will again become dim after a short time signifying a problem with the charging system.
4000 Refundable Core Deposit. The battery stores enough voltage to be able to start the engine without the assistance of an alternator. Charging voltage not verified.
