2000 Toyota Tundra Interference Engine

I have a 2010 60th anniversary 47 litre V8 petrol Land Cruiser.

CARspec had the chance to replace the timing. There are more free-wheeling non-interference Toyota engines than I would have thought since non-interference sacrifices efficiency for engine safety. The speedo reads 195500 or so Kilometres.

I have a 2002 Tundra Limited with the 47L. Asked by cliffday in Cambridge ME on. 5 Feb 23 2017.

I bought it with 165000 or so Ks. I plan to replace my timing belt water pump and associated parts. This does not mean that there has been damage because the belt has broken it just means that damage is possible if the belt breaks.

I dont know if youd hear the sound of valves hitting pistons but it died very quietly. The 47 is an interference engine which means that if the engine gets out of time the valves can hit the pistons. I had an 01 Tundra with the 47L V8.
