2000 Toyota Tundra Starter Relay Problems
2000 tundra engine doesnt start only one click sound Sounds like battery is dead or low on charge possibly from bad battery connections or bad alternator.
2000 toyota tundra starter relay problems. When it does not start you can hear the relay click in the fuse box under hood and hear the fuel pump run. That did not help. 2000 Toyota Tundra starts occassionally.
I changed the computer key to a new one thinking the module in the key was bad. Your main is probably under the hood. Usually the ignition fuse will be relatively large.
Step 3 Pull the starter relay out by hand which will be marked clearly on the inside of the relay diagram printed on the inside of the relay cover lid. There is a 5amp starter fuse under the hood in the fuse panel make sure its good if it is remove the starter relay in the same fuse block the relay has numbered terminals identify terminal three on the relay and the corresponding connector in the fuse box apply 12volt battery voltage directly to terminal three of the socket with a jumper wire from the battery the starter should turn the engine. The solenoid does not work because you shorted it out with the screwdriver so the engine will not turn over.
Problem is as follows. However today the truck just wont start. If it does the solenoid is defective.
1 disconnect battery 2 remove any wires connected to the starter 3 remove mounting bolts 4 catch the starter and manouver it through your suspincion 5 you may need to reverse 2 and 3 depending on how hard the wires are to get to 6 now revers these steps with new starter. 2000 Tundra Turn key sometimes it starts sometimes a 1 or 2 second delay then starts sometimes nothing at all. However the motor inside the starter should turn on and make a loud humming sound.
However yesterday i cleaned it all up and went to go start it and take it to a shop to get my rear stopping light fixed but it wouldnt. Next step is the starter solenoid which on the 47 is a pain in the neck to get to the whole intake manifold needs to be removed to get to starter. The next thing that I would do is to plug up a spark plug tester 5 at autozone up to the plugs and make sure that they are getting voltage.
