I am a manager at a Toyota store bought this pre-owned truck 2008 Toyota Tundra with. To fix it Toyota recommends replacing the entire box and bed at 6000 to 7000. I have read a lot of the old posts on this issue and it seems theres not much you can do to fix it or prevent it other than maybe slow it down with something like POR-15 paint.
