Toyota Tundra Brake Rotors Warping Issue
They are usually heavy users from towing or racing.
Toyota tundra brake rotors warping issue. Im also easy on the brakes even though I tow over 8K routinely. The Toyota Dealership resurfaced all rotors and replaced all brake pads. If your brakes are bad under 50k.
This is known as warping. Warped brake rotors are far less effective at stopping fast if you need to slam on the brakes. They did that only if the customer complained.
10 Jul 7 2011. Violent steering wheel shake when applying the brakes. Brake system is not big enough.
This truck is 4WD automatic. I remember reading of rotor warp problems on the 4Runners too 1996 - 2002 but mine were fine for 196k miles. Also threw a set on Audi Q7 since my GTA style of driving ate those rotors as well.
I had one aftermarket set that only lasted 30k so I went back to OEM. Your Tundra may have drum brakes on the rear though. I got 75k miles out of each set of OEM brake pads too.
Even if the problem is a stuck caliper Tundra brakes while fixing the issue are hardly necessary. If its a stuck caliper piston just rebuild the calipers. It is my opinion driving habits play a BIG part its a truck and not a Porsche.
